Teaching Internships

Thinking about a career in teaching?
​
If you’re an undergraduate or studying for a Masters and interested in teaching, Teaching Internships give you the opportunity to experience a range of activities to help you get a feel for school life.

The internships last 3 weeks, typically from mid June to July and you'll be paid £300 per week. 

Applications for Summer 2024 are open.

Dates for 2024 Internships - Monday 17 June 2024 - Friday 5 July 2024.

​Completing an Internship with SWIFT Teacher Training

​​​​SWIFT are one of a small number of partnerships nationally approved by the DfE to provide an internship programme for undergraduates currently studying at university. In partnership with Plymouth Marjon University, we will provide opportunities to:
  • Learn new skills
  • Gain classroom experience, support pupils, shadow experienced teachers, observe lessons and lots more
  • Earn £300 per week

​Internship Subjects

You'll need to be studying for a related degree and interested in teaching one of these subjects:
  • chemistry
  • computing
  • languages
  • maths
  • physics
If you’re interested in teaching a different subject, you can still get school experience and find out what it’s like to be in a classroom.
